We need your help. Did you know?:

In 2021, Selma experienced 25 murders, seeing a 56% increase from 2016 when the city was rated the 8th most dangerous place in the United States per capita. With over 350 calls for Shots Fired in a three month period, Selma needs the Violence Intervention Program (VIP) and your help.

The VIP focuses on several neighborhoods (Hot Spots) within the City of Selma and across the bridge in the Selmont, an unincorporated section of Dallas County.

We are asking our partners and supporters to rally their friends, family, and networks to support our work. By becoming a fundraiser for Selma Center for Nonviolence, Truth & Reconciliation, you will help more victims of violence in Selma and Dallas County, AL, and you'll help your friends feel good about doing good.

Starting a fundraiser is easy to do, and it's fun. We'll even give you all the tools you'll need to make a difference. With your help we can ensure reduce acts of violence and retaliation in Selma and Dallas County, AL.

We are even having a competition to see who can raise the most money with special prizes and thank you gifts for the people at the top of the leaderboard!

What does a Victim Service Advocate do?

Provides holistic, client-centered, wraparound services to survivors of homicide and living victims of violent crime throughout Selma and Selmont.
Supports every victim regardless of circumstance, background, or former offender status.
Responds to homicides and assaults within 24 hours
